Afterglow - #FlashFictionFriday

With her sandals dangling from her finger, Hayley stood on tip-toe to kiss Enrique goodbye. Even though she would never see him again, she walked away without regret.

Thunder cracked overhead and muggy heat gave way to sheet rain. It was a release from the oppressive atmosphere, reflecting her feeling of liberation. She welcomed the cool salve on her flushed skin, cleansing her of her past troubles.

She'd enjoyed that physical connection without worrying about the fallout. One night of passion had rejuvenated her, reminded her she was desirable. A holiday fling was the perfect cure for a broken heart.
