The Art of Pleasure

Guest Ella Laurance

Isn’t it any woman’s fantasy to have a handsome man with more money than he could possible spend in several lifetimes fall in love with her? Well, it wasn’t one of Marie’s dreams. And yet, that’s exactly what happened to her. Trevor Dewey, billionaire, wanted her the very moment he saw her. Despite Marie’s doubts about the consequences of extreme wealth, she couldn’t help but see the true man behind the bank account.

After ten years that love is still going strong…

Blurb:

Marie Dewey collects paintings and sexual experiences with different men, and her billionaire husband Trevor loves nothing more than to fulfil all her wishes…

Billionaire Trevor Dewey has two great talents—making money and loving his wife, Marie. Marie, in her turn, has two great loves—her husband and art. She's also a sexual freethinker who enjoys one-night stands with other men in the company of her own husband.

Trevor wants nothing more than to make his wife happy, so when she falls in lust with his personal assistant and best friend, Callum, and Callum returns her feelings, he decides to take both of them to his private island off the coast of Scotland for a weekend of sex. And both men will bring Marie to several unbelievable heights of pleasure during one weekend.

All three know this will be a one-time thing only before life returns to normal

Excerpt:

She walked through the exhibition rooms filled with works of Leyster, Modersohn-Becker, Kahlo, Morisot, Gentileschi, Kollwitz and many others, her hands accentuating the enthusiasm of her voice. If Trevor could have fallen in love with her even more, he would have done so. A pleasant tingling in his crotch reminded him of both the night that lay behind him and the one still to come. His wife had been insatiable, on fire, and he had done everything his body was capable of to satisfy her needs. When she had finally fallen asleep against his exhausted body, it had been with a happy smile on her face.

Marie turned her head around and smiled at him. “I can read your thoughts,” she sing-songed.

Trevor winked at her. “You’re a witch, woman, reading my mind like that.”

“Get a room, you two.” Callum waggled his eyebrows. He might not have known everything about them, but he came damn close. He had become their most trusted employee and one of their best friends, and most importantly of all, he had learned to steer expertly between those two roles. He never judged, but always spoke his mind when he thought it had to be spoken, and invariably for a good reason. Trevor had learnt from costly experience that the best he could do for himself was to ignore the vast majority of advice given to him, but when Callum talked, he listened.

The new painting hung on the wall between two other De Lempicka works, and Marie insisted both Trevor and Callum should come and admire it before the museum presented its latest acquisition to the public. Every time her husband bought a new painting for her, she was always so excited to share it with others. If there was one thing that allowed her to make peace with the fact that she was married to a billionaire, she had told Trevor, it was the opportunity to not only collecting as much art as she desired, but also building a museum so everyone could share in the joy of visual beauty. Almost everything in his life was about investment and revenue, about money making more money, but not this. This was for her, and the worth of it all lay not in dollars and pounds, but in the pleasure it gave Marie.

Look, everything around him said, look with your eyes and your heart and your mind. Simply look!

Marie stood in the middle, Trevor on her right and Callum on her left. She looked to her husband, then to his assistant and finally at the painting. Trevor couldn’t help but smile when he heard her deep, happy sigh before she said, “Thank you so much, the both of you.”

“It’s just a matter of putting more money on the table than everyone else,” Trevor said.

“I was only doing my job,” Callum said.

But Marie shook her head, “Money? Work? As if.” She turned towards Callum again, but right before she did, Trevor saw something in her eyes, if only for a fleeting second, that made him realise what would be the next gift to his wife. She wanted Callum. Or to be more precise, she wanted to have sex with him.

#SexySnippets

This week's retro #SexySnippets is taken from Pyramid of Passion, my very first release.

'Dark eyes Kohl-lined in the Egyptian fashion Rosie recognized

from history books, stared back at her. She followed the muscular

trunk of his long body, as smooth as his head, down to the

impressive cock swinging freely between strong thighs. Out of

politeness, she averted her eyes, and then to make sure she hadn’t

exaggerated, took a second look.

Standing alone with a naked stranger, common sense screamed at

her to get out. But she remained seated, frozen to the spot. The

vision before her too surreal to fear.

The living statue of masculinity knelt at her feet, an arm across

his chest and head bowed.

“Goddess Anuke, you honor me with your presence,” he said.'

Blurb

Rosie Carter starts her night shift at the museum by finding the security guard, Nick, screwing a redhead in the office. Running from her attraction to him, she distracts herself with the newly acquired Ancient Egyptian exhibit.

The Gold of Valor catches her eye–a pendant bestowed on the Pharaoh's soldier, Edifu. Its mystical powers transport her into the bedroom of the man himself, who thinks she's a gift from the gods and worships her with his mouth, his tongue...

She discovers the joy of sex and a newfound confidence with her hunky warrior, and she's caught between her fantasy life and dull reality. When Nick starts to show his true feelings toward her, Rosie has to decide what it is she really wants.

Sexy and Mysterious Genevieve Bergeron

My Genre? Sexy and Mysterious

Hi, I’m Gen—I wrote erotic romance. Yes, it’s so nice to meet you, too.

Before we move on, I’d like to send a huge “thank you” to the lovely Jorja Lovett for allowing me this visit with all of you today!

Now, I have one question: Who likes a good mystery?

I’m still a new(ish) romance author—in fact, my second book, Sorry, Bro, was just released from Total E-Bound last Friday—so you may not be familiar with my work. But if there’s one thing you should know about my style, it’s that I love a good, old-fashioned mystery.

Pick up a copy of Sorry, Bro, and you’ll know what I mean. While a sexy romp is vital to any good romance, so is a little something extra that keeps the reader guessing.

In Sorry, Bro, you’ll find yourself asking why Bryce, the main character, becomes morbidly depressed when he finds Tim, an old friend from high school, in his care at the hospital where he works. Or why Bryce’s girlfriend suddenly breaks up with him after hearing about Tim. Or why Bryce and Tim—once attached at the hip—had not spoken in years.

A little bit of mystery is a mainstay of my work. My first work, Hyperpersonal, Hypersexual, centers on a blossoming online romance. And when Juliette, the heroine, meets her online flame, you, the reader, will be even more surprised than she is.

Ready for a little something both sexy and mysterious? Try Sorry, Bro from Total E-Bound. I think you’ll like it.

Thanks for reading!

xo,

Gen

Blurb

Still aching from the mistakes and denials of his past, this ER nurse could heal anyone but himself…until now.

Handsome, athletic and intelligent, twenty-six-year-old Bryce should be living the high life.

But he’s far from it.

After shunning his best baseball buddy in high school, dropping out of medical school and fleeing New York to put down roots—if only shallow ones—in New Orleans, Bryce is uncertain about both his past and his future. Working long hours as a low-level nurse and confined by a sexless relationship with a questionably devoted girlfriend, Bryce can’t shake the feeling that things should be somehow better now he’s escaped the confusion and indecision of his former life.

Yet when the ghost of Bryce’s high school past, the handsome and charismatic Tim, shows up injured in the ER, Bryce’s already turbulent emotions engulf him in a vortex of confusion and regret. Haunted by his own insensitivity towards Tim eight years before, Bryce first finds comfort in the powerful arms of a resident surgeon he barely knows, then gives Tim the explosive, cataclysmic relief he had denied him in high school. As Bryce comes to terms with his sexuality and recognises his undeniable attraction to both men, he must decide, once and for all, where his fidelity—and his desires—lie.

Raven McAllan's - Master

I always love visiting Jorja; she always has yummy sandwiches in gluten free bread for me. peers inside the sandwich Oh nice, smoked salmon and cucumber.

Anyway, I'm not here to talk about food, though I must say the Victoria Sponge is sort of calling to me, I'm here to talk about my latest release from Evernight Publishing.

Master is a love story, there's no two ways about it. But it's not straightforward. Well, love never is really, is it? Even the boy meets girl, girl fancies boy, boy loves girl etc. etc., usually has a few girl hates boy, boy thinks with his dick scenarios in it. What is it they say, true love never runs smooth? Well it certainly didn't for Anna and Caden.

I really enjoyed writing their story, but it wasn't straightforward. As anyone who's been good enough to read any blogs by me before, (oh and thank you) you'll know I'm a pantster. Someone who doesn't plot. I'm led by my characters and do as they dictate. Therefore as I wrote Master, I really had no idea where it was going to end, or how. Oh I hoped for a happy ending, but at times I really wasn't sure it could happen. Talk about stubborn! Sigh

But the great thing was, even as I laughed and cried as I typed, their characters came to me, strong and determined. I knew that in the end they would sort things out—or did I? Let's be honest, I hoped they would.

All writers have their own way of writing, and at times I do wonder what it would be like to know exactly where my story was going. But I can't write like that, so I console myself that if I'm all caught up in "ohh, I wonder what's going to happen" hopefully so will the readers be.

Here's the blurb…

Caden McCourt did not expect to find his estranged wife Diana at a BDSM club. When he does, the renowned Master is determined to claim back his errant wife.

When Diana left him fifteen years prior, she lost a part of herself. Seeing Cade again throws her into a tail spin.

She cannot be the sub he needs, but she can't walk away either. When she's challenged by Cade to face her demons, her old nightmares resurface. Can they overcome the chasm between them, or are the nightmares simply too strong?

And how about a wee tease?

"Here's the details of the guy I was telling you about." Linsey waved the document in her hand. "It's a real coup getting him to agree to guest here, I tell you. Evidently, it’s a rare occurrence when he guests. He'll be here in a day or so to look round." She handed the slim file to Anna, who took it and started to read the typed pages. The name jumped out at Anna and spots floated in front of her eyes. There was a strange ringing noise in her ears; her pulse raced, and her skin went clammy.

Oh hell, don't let me faint. Not here, not now. Let me tell her. She opened her mouth to speak, but couldn't form the words. A week, wavery croak was the best she could manage. Anna began to hyperventilate, and for the life of her couldn't stop.

"Anna, what's wrong?" Linsey pushed Anna's head down. "Take deep breaths, come on now, you're fine."

Am I? I'm not so sure. However, Anna did as Linsey told her and gradually the ringing disappeared, and her vision cleared. She gulped in air and wiped her forehead on the tissue Linsey handed to her.

"Don't move." Linsey left the office. Anna couldn't have moved if she tried. Her legs felt like jelly, and pins and needles bombarded her skin like tiny hailstones. Linsey re-entered the room and passed Anna a glass of water. "Drink it slowly and tell me what brought that on. Are you pregnant? Am I going to have to try to knit booties and have coal around for you to eat?"

That made Anna smile, albeit a somewhat small grin. "Not a snowball in hell’s chance of that. No, it's just you okayed this guy." She handed the form back, hoping her hands didn't shake.

Linsey scanned the form. "Yeah? Well, what's not to accept? I'm really over the moon with this. He's a well-respected Dom. Great form, even better credentials, and all his subs rave about him. We're honored to get him. He's very picky where he demonstrates and only does a couple of guest nights a year. He has the choice of anywhere in the world to go, and he chose to come here. I was gobsmacked, I tell you. We'd have them queuing to the border to get in if we advertised. What a coup. So, as I said, what’s not to accept? I should be genuflecting all the way to his base and back again."

Now how could she answer that?

With the truth.

***

Not easy though is it? To tell the truth, especially in a situation like that. If you want to find out what that's all about, you'll need to read the book.

Raven lives in Scotland, along with her husband and their two cats—their children having flown the nest—surrounded by beautiful scenery, which inspires a lot of the settings in her books.

She is used to sharing her life with the occasional deer, red squirrel, and lost tourist, to say nothing of the scourge of Scotland—the midge.

A lover of reading, she appreciates the history inside a book, and the chance to peek into the lives of those from years ago. Raven admits that she enjoys the research for her books almost as much as the writing; so much so, that sometimes she realizes she's strayed way past the information she needs to know, and not a paragraph has been added to her WIP.

Her lovely long-suffering husband is learning to love the dust bunnies, work the Aga, and be on stand-by with a glass of wine.

Under Orders from Doris O'Connor

Thanks so much for having me here, Jorja, with my newest release, Under Orders.

Everyone likes a good office based romance, right? That age old power exchange between boss and employee lends itself to so many different connotations. How far will she go to please her boss, as they tread the fine line between mutual arousal and sexual harassment case waiting to happen?

My heroines are no pushovers, and Anna is no exception to this rule. So, why is she letting the visiting CEO take such liberties with her body? Why indeed?

You will have to read the book to find out, but these two are intertwined in more ways than you can imagine. I had great fun writing this story and I was as clueless as the next person as to where this was all going. The joys of a pantster, and all that….

****

Blurb: Who ever heard of being ordered to wear vibrating panties to a business meeting? The visiting CEO may be sex-on-legs-gorgeous, but Anna knows a sexual harassment case when she sees it. No one is going to order her to entertain Jonathan Symmonds—no one but her own body it seems.

Jonathan proves a hard man to resist. When he reveals his secret identity, this daughter of a slayer ought to be running for the hills not play submissive to his dark side.

Will passion and a shared past be enough to keep them together, or is their bond doomed to end at the stake?

Be Warned: bondage, public exhibition

Excerpt:

Clearly it had been way too long since Anna had last gotten laid if her body could respond to a complete stranger in this fashion of reckless abandonment.

He turned his attention back to the room, and Anna released the breath she’d been holding. Brian glared at her, and that uneasy feeling in her stomach returned. She squared her shoulders and stared him down, before Jonathan’s hand on her thigh pulled her attention back to him.

“I would like to thank Anna for her diligent attention to detail in drawing up these reports.” He shifted his hand higher during those few words, until he reached the top of her stocking. Digging one finger underneath he caressed the soft skin of her inner thigh, and Anna forced herself not to squirm and give the game away. “She has been most thorough, and the results will show once and for all who is responsible for this current … mishap.”

He smiled briefly, and looked toward Brian. The older man shrank in his seat. His Adam’s apple bobbed wildly as though he could barely hold onto his saliva. Beads of sweat broke out on his ruddy complexion, and Anna was half expecting the pencil he clutched to splinter under the strain of his white knuckled grip.

“I also feel the need to make it clear that Anna acted under direct orders from myself and her immediate superior.” He nodded toward Anna’s boss, and Leonard Peterson shifted to stand behind Brian, his expression as grave as she’d ever seen it.

“No one here should have any reason to hold the findings of this report against Anna.” Again he paused, and his penetrating gaze swept around the room until he seemed satisfied that he had everyone’s undivided attention. At the same time he shifted his hand higher up the inside of her thigh, until his knuckles brushed against the damp fabric covering her slit. Anna bit her lip to stop herself from moaning. The feather light touch seared her core, and her internal muscles clenched in need. The fabric grew wetter, and he was bound to notice. She risked a peek at his profile, and the slight elevation to his bottom lip told her that he knew exactly how turned on she was.

He took a deep breath and brushed his forefinger against her clit, pressing down just enough to make the little nubbin tingle in anticipation. That smirk of his deepened, when she couldn’t help her involuntary jump in response.

“Likewise no one in this room has anything to fear from these findings, unless they have not been acting in the company’s best interests. If you have indeed been mishandling funds then now would be a prudent time to own up to this fact.”

Again he paused, and Anna held her breath. He looked every inch the ruthless and dangerous business man he was reported to be. His harsh features had drawn tight, his high cheek bones accentuated under the artificial lighting that filled the room, despite the blaring sun outside the windows overlooking London’s skyline. He held himself perfectly still, the muscles bulging in tension under the light summer suit he wore. Only his finger moved in slow, measured circles, designed to drive Anna to the brink of insanity. She grasped hold of her armrests again, and coughed to hide her moan as that finger slipped under the elastic of her underwear and teased her entrance.

“I-I—” Brian shot out of his chair and looked as though he would have made a run for it, had Leonard not grabbed him by the suit lapels and pinned him against the wall. The door burst open, and two burly security guards took over and dragged Brian from the room. Anna was barely aware of the ensuing commotion, because Jonathan chose that moment to thrust two fingers knuckle deep inside her channel. Her pussy walls tightened around the digits, and Anna shut her eyes against the rising sensation deep within. There was something so deliciously naughty about the CEO finger-fucking her under the table.

The barely functioning rational side of her brain urged her to scream, to do something. He was taking liberties with her body that he had no right to take, but the other horny as hell part of her told that side to shut the fuck up, even as Jonathan added his thumb to her clit, pushing her closer and closer to release.

“Leonard, get Anna a glass of water. She is looking a little flushed.”

Her eyes flew open at the amused words, and she knew her cheeks must be as red as the roses in the vase across the room, when her boss stepped close enough to her to see exactly what was happening under the table. Jonathan did not release her. If anything he stepped up his assault, curling his fingers in such a way that he massaged her sweet spot deep inside.

Leonard cleared his throat repeatedly, and the water splashed over the side of the glass he was pouring for Anna, masking the wet sounds of Jonathan’s fingers thrusting in and out of her sopping cunt. She would leave a visible stain on her skirt and chair at this rate, but Anna could no more stop herself from climbing towards bliss than she could stop breathing. She dug her fingers into the arms of her chair and bit her lip so hard she drew blood, as her orgasm hit her with the full force of a speeding train. Irrespective of where she was, or perhaps because of it, waves of pleasure crashed over her, as her body shook in delicious aftershocks. Jonathan did not withdraw his fingers until the last of her shudders stopped, and when she opened her eyes it was to find the room empty, bar the three of them.

Author Bio:

Glutton for punishment would be a good description for Doris... at least that's what she hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not.

There is always something better to do after all, like working on the latest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even more than usual by talking out loud to the voices in her head. Her characters tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and you will find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to get any peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps.

She likes to spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales involving alpha heroes to die for, and heroines who give as good as they get. From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to F/F, and MƩnage, haunting love stories are guaranteed.

Be Warned: anal sex
ep1small.jpg
Excerpt:
The dull beam of the spotlight shone down on the small stage in the middle of the room. The glow of her long chocolate hair and crimson lipstick caught their attention first and then her arms and legs wrapped seductively around the pole.
"Gentlemen, Regan Steele." Beau introduced her over the microphone.
The music started. The low, gritty, sensual drone of a guitar consumed the room. She swiveled her ankle and twirled herself slowly up the pole. The thin material of her grey shawl dropped from her shoulder. She turned her head, just enough to tease the men with the allure of her eyes.
The man sitting before her seemed to enjoy what she was giving, but she didn't recognize his face. Regan had been working at Armadillo Lounge long enough to know every regular from this po-dunk town. There was something different about him. He was certainly robust, and she could practically smell the sweat and dirt from his skin.
Hello, cowboy...
His dark brown eyes were just visible under the low sitting Stetson. His black hair, dirty and full of grit, matched his unkempt beard. Regan found herself entranced; determined.
She slid down, twirling around the pole on her five inch ankle boots, and dropped the shawl.
The stranger shifted his weight in the chair and gulped the entire contents of his glass in one swallow, before moving his attention to the floor.
I don't fuckin' think so.
Rejection was not a word in Regan's vocabulary. She kicked the shawl at him using the tip of her boot.
Without lifting his head, his velvet eyes connected with hers, and she smiled. He gripped the shawl in his hands and lifted it to his face. He breathed in her scent and allowed a smile to creep up the corner of his mouth.
That's more like it!
She turned around, holding the pole with both hands and bent forward, giving him the best view of her finest asset. Holed fishnets travelled the length of her legs, blending in with the black, studded thong that left very little to the imagination.
Just when he leaned forward, she snapped back, pressing herself hard against the pole. She parted her lips against the cold metal and moved her hand across her right breast, cupping it, before unfastening the strapless bra. She bit her lip and, still covering her chest, she lifted herself on to the pole. Using her legs for balance, she bent backwards and threw the bra at him.
He bowed his head, lifting his eyes to hers and then to the silver ends of the bars in each of her nipples.
He's not like every other redneck in this joint. A decent man is few and far between in this fuckin' town. The simple fact that he isn't howling at me like a dog is driving me wild. Male attention is what I'm good at and I'll be damned if I let the new guy shun me!
She pulled herself back up and stood freely from the pole. She spread her knees and dropped to the ground, grinding her hips to the music. She ran her hand down her face, dragging the black eye make-up and lipstick with it and tossed her hair behind her shoulders. Teeth gritted, she raised her hand high on the pole before twirling around it again, lifting her legs high and flipping her body upside down. She rolled her ribs and chest to the slow rhythm.
Her vision flickered for a moment. Her heart started to hammer against her chest plate. She scrunched her eyes tight, praying that it was just her contact folding over.
Shit...
The music stopped and a low buzzing sound consumed her ears. Even with her eyes closed she could tell the dull light that shone on her was now gone.
God dammit! Not now! Why is it always at the most inconvenient fuckin' times?
Still upside down, she reached her free hand for the .44 magnum lying in the crumpled mess of her leather jacket on the floor.
At least I got good ol' Carla...
She cocked it with one hand and flipped her body back over until she stood. The world, oblivious to all of this, had paused in time. Now all that existed was her and them...
A hundred tiny, gleaming white eyes stared back at her. Her gray eyes seemed pale in the darkness as she stared at her reflection in the mirror ahead, before looking down at them; not a single weak bone in her body. They squealed like slaughtered pigs and crawled on all fours towards her. Just the reflection of the moon against their wet reptilian-like skin was all she could see of their grotesque bodies.  A smile crept across her face and she said, "C'mon, you slimy sons of bitches. Show me your worst."
One leaped at her, claws extended, ready to rip her flesh apart. She aimed and squeezed the trigger. The bullet landed between its beady little eyes. Blood splattered and the creature exploded in a puff of smoke. The rest moved closer and she cocked the magnum once more.
Why didn't I bring the sickles? How am I going to take them all on when I have to reload?
But soon the eyes were no longer upon her. They stared directly below, where the stranger was sitting.  He stood from his chair and Regan nearly called out in shock.
Wait a minute...how in God's hell?
She heard a faint ruffling and they all leapt at once. The reflection from his weapon flashed before her eyes, gutting every demon as they sprang at him from all angles with such speed and accuracy that she felt she had to be dreaming.
Well, shut my mouth!
The lights came back as well as the music. Regan stood, aghast, on the stage with the magnum still firmly in her hands. She ignored the quizzical looks from the patrons, even the glass shattering when it fell from Beau's shaking hand. She dropped her arm to her side.
The stranger's already dirty, floor length coat was covered in blood, as was his face. His profile showed a crooked nose and heavy bags under his eyes. He smiled at the corner of his mouth again, rolling a cigar between his award winning teeth. He struck a match and puffed until the smoke created a thick white trail, blowing smoothly until the ceiling fan sucked it up.
"Howdy, sweet cheeks," he said, and winked.

It's getting hot in here with Amanda Bretz

Thank you so much for having me as a guest on your blog! I’m excited to be here and to share a bit about my newest release, Tropical Heat, published by Total-E-Bound publishing. This story is special to me now, and I believe it always will be because it’s a venture of firsts for me. Not only is it my first foray into the erotic romance genre, but the story is also the first title to ever be released by a publisher rather than self-published like my three previous books. Without further ado, here’s a bit more about Tropical Heat.

Blurb:
They have one night together to explore their passion, fulfil their needs and quench their desires, but will one night be enough?
Rayne Willows is an artist from the Pacific Northwest looking to shake up her boring life. A trip to Jamaica sounds like the perfect way to let loose and rekindle her passion for photography. When she meets local man Marcus Greene on the beach in Ocho Rios, sparks immediately fly. Marcus offers to show Rayne around his beautiful hometown, but during the sightseeing tour, the two quickly realize the passion they have for each other can’t be held back. They decide to make their one night together a sexy experience neither of them is likely to forget.
Excerpt:
Surrounded by the cobalt ocean and the lush green hills, I couldn’t help but feel inspired. Jamaica was all that I’d thought it would be—and more. I closed my eyes and revelled in the sensations. The catamaran I was on swung and swayed to a rhythm that only it knew.
The sun burned on the breathtaking horizon. Thanks to the powerful early-morning light, the sea glittered clear to the bottom of the cerulean depths. I turned my head when briefly the calypso music stopped and the captain announced in his lilting island accent that we’d almost reached our destination.
Ocho Rios. We were almost there. As an artist I had spent the last ten years dreaming about visiting here, all of Jamaica, actually. Seeing the popular tourist destination of Ocho Rios had always been one of my deepest desires. The town was home to so much beauty.
The boat was en route to Dunn’s River Falls, and I couldn’t wait to experience the rush of the water, the absolute freedom of being one with the land as I explored the natural wonder. When I stepped off the boat dock and touched down in the soft sand, a hundred possible paintings flashed in my mind. The landscape that was set before me became my canvas. The beach at sunset with hues of tangerine, scarlet, turquoise and lavender. The beach at dawn when the sun kissed the shore good morning. The beach on a rainy day, with the turbulent churning of a navy blue sea against an angry, dark sky.
When I stepped a little closer to the falls, my heart pounded. The rushing water was so loud, I could barely hear my own thoughts. I stopped to stare at the unique rock formation. Nestled in the cliff just off the beach were the falls. The water cascaded down through large boulders, which resembled a jagged staircase.
Taking a step forward reverently, somewhat timidly, I dipped my head under the spray that emptied out into the sea and pulled back instantly. Despite the tropical weather, the spring-fed water coming from the falls was frigid. I paused to look around, wondering if everyone else on the beach was as shocked by the chilly waters as I was. Groups of American tourists shrieked and splashed around on the beach, while running back and forth between the waters of the deep blue Caribbean Sea and the crisp clear water from the falls.
The scene made me smile. I brought my camera’s viewfinder to my eye and began to snap pictures of the idyllic landscape.
I nearly gasped in surprise when I saw a shirtless bronzed Adonis jogging towards me. Even though it was an invasion of his privacy, I used the powerful zoom feature on my camera to get a better shot. I zoomed in further, closing in on his washboard abs. I swallowed hard. I’d heard of a six-pack, but the sexy hunk was sporting an eight-pack.
When he got closer, I twisted the lens and readjusted the zoom to focus in on his face. I clicked off a half-dozen shots in rapid succession as he ran towards me. His features were so stunning I knew he had to be some type of celebrity in Jamaica on vacation. Those eyes—they were the colour of warm caramel, and as he approached me, I could have sworn he was looking deeply into my own. God, he was gorgeous. I snapped one more picture of him as he jogged past me and it was all I could do not to follow him with my camera.
